Electronic sounds meet the primal power of the
mountains – this is Berggeist. On this instrumental
journey, atmospheric synthesizers, guitars and
acoustic sounds merge into a multi-layered
soundscape that moves between stillness and
powerful motion. Inspired by mist, wind, stone,
altitude and solitude, the album explores that
particular experience that emerges when everyday
life falls away and only the path, the landscape and
your own rhythm remain. Berggeist is a musical
approach to the mountains – not as a backdrop, but
as a direct experience of vastness, transience and a
natural world that does not submit to humankind.
About this album

Berggeist continues the musical path of Waldgeist
without repeating it. Electronic instruments once
again form the sonic foundation, but this time
guitars and acoustic elements play a more
prominent role. The music moves between quiet,
meditative passages and rhythmic, powerful
moments. Rather than portraying specific
landscapes, I wanted to capture the feeling of being
on the move: the contrast between exertion and
rest, closeness and vastness. The result is an album
about movement, altitude and solitude – and about
what the mountains do to us when we allow
ourselves to truly experience them.
