T.O.N.T.O. is the huge expanded double Moog Modular synth created by Malcolm Cecil and Robert Margouleff for two legendary albums – “Zero Time” (1971) and “It’s About Time” (1974), the name standing for “The Original New Timbral Orchestra”.
Stopping only to feature the system in the Brian De Palma movie “Phantom Of The Paradise”, the duo went on to produce four groundbreaking albums with Stevie Wonder, and others with Gil Scott-Heron, Steve Hillage and many more. Now music tech expert Mark Jenkins (“Tubular Bells for the Moog Synthesizer”, “Dark Side Of The Moon for the Moog Synthesizer”) has been given exclusive access to the T.O.N.T.O. system in Canada to create a new album, “T.O.N.T.O. Lives!”.
