Air Trip Music continues, in its own way, the lineage of my previous solo albums, which were already inspired by the work of American minimalists Steve Reich and Terry Riley. To put it more clearly, you won’t find melodies or pads here, only improvisations created on an analog sequencer itself integrated into a Eurorack modular system equipped with a powerful echo device. On top of this foundation, as embellishment and added pleasure for the ear, various additions created with Audacity are layered. This excellent free software thus serves as both a recording studio and a sound laboratory. Air Trip Music consists of five tracks, each offering a rich and transformed sequential improvisation. This listening experience should be peaceful and attentive in order to gently and smoothly follow the evolution and meanderings of each of these musical improvisations, which total just under 70 minutes. It is also a manifesto for creative freedom, an ode to off-piste, experimental music that remains musical, electronic music that doesn’t forget to be adventurous and exploratory.
