A double CD released by Audio Vaults, “Live In Pepperland 1970” features a concert recording from October 17 of that year at the Pepperland Auditorium in San Rafael, California. “Atom Heart Mother” had just been released, and Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Richard Wright, and Nick Mason perform the Gilmour-esque ballad “Fat Old Sun” and the title track, in a version performed without choir and orchestra. The first disc also features various versions of the opening track “Astronomy Domine,” which were rehearsed and abandoned for tuning reasons. The repertoire is classic from the period, with tracks from “A Saucerful of Secrets” and “More,” the outtake “The Embryo,” and “Careful With That Axe, Eugene.”
