Designed for infinite low-volume playback, the album’s sole track “The Current Above” continues the evolution of the long-form immersion series of intimate ambient recordings Steve began in the late-90s. The caress of slowly-unfolding cascades of shimmering textures and diaphanous atmospherics makes for the ideal soundworld for one’s habitat. Steve Roach is a leading American composer, performer and icon in the evolution of ambient/electronic music. Steve is renown for his pioneering role in shaping the genre through deeply immersive, atmospheric and engaging soundscapes over more than four decades. Within his massive catalog Steve has received two Grammy nominations for Spiral Revelation (2017) and Molecules of Motion (2018). He’s equally prolific in the live setting creating legendary real-time mesmerizing experiences in venues from cathedrals to intimate settings. Alongside all this he maintains an unbroken focus from a life dedicated to the soundcurrent at his longtime Timehouse studio in Baja Arizona.
